Hamilton College Arts Neighborhood
The Wellin Museum and Kennedy Center for Theater and the Studio Arts, designed by Machado & Silvetti, form a threshold into a historic arboretum known as Root Glen. A pond and terraced wetland system, centerpiece of the new arts neighborhood, flows into this iconic natural and physical resource.
Reed Hilderbrand provided landscape architecture planning and design services for the Hamilton College Arts Neighborhood from its inception through post-occupancy maintenance and site management. After contributing the site master plan with Allied Works, we continued to design the landscape architecture associated with Wellin Museum and the Kennedy Arts Center. This landscape frames a gateway into the campus arboretum, known as the Root Glen, and features a new dynamic expression of the significant natural resources that characterize the College’s campus.
